The Magnolia Master Plan 2040 will create a guiding framework for the community's future - a rethought vision for Magnolia's next 25 years.
What is a Comprehensive Plan?
The Magnolia Master Plan 2040 will set a vision for the community's future and provide a blueprint to achieve that future through actionable steps. The plan will be City's official policy guide and help determine decisions made for land use, neighborhood development, housing, transportation, parks, trails, etc. In essence, it will help decide what kind of community Magnolia should be as it grows in the coming decades.
Who is involved in creating the Comprehensive Plan?
The plan will be adopted by Magnolia's Planning Commission and City Council, and the overall process of development of the plan is being overseen by a steering committee. This steering committee consists of residents, representatives from community institutions and organizations, and elected/appointed officials. However, for the plan to truly work it will require YOUR input, meaning extensive community input. Throughout the plan process we'll have multiple opportunities for community involvement through workshops, meetings, and online engagement. We want community input to help drive this plan.
When will the Plan start and when will it be completed?
The plan process began in early 2016, with anticipated project completion in Late Summer 2017.
How can I get involved in the process?
Your involvement is important. We want your ideas and voice heard. The Community Involvement page details all the opportunities to provide your input. We'll keep it updated with upcoming meeting and workshop dates.
